The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR)
About Us
The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) is the UK's public relations industry professional body. We are celebrating our 60th anniversary in 2008.
The Institute represents and serves the interests of people working in PR. We offer access to information, advice and support, and provide networking and training opportunities through a wide variety of events, conferences and workshops.
Our region has become the largest centre for PR outside of London. We have around 2,500 PR practitioners in Yorkshire - and we're expanding our regional programme of events in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire area.
PR is seen as a vibrant, attractive industry, consistently ranking among new graduates' top three career choices. We exist to set the highest standards of professionalism and integrity within the profession.
Mission Statement
Our aim is:
- To provide a professional structure for the practice of public relations
- To enhance the ability and status of our members as professional practitioners
- To represent and serve the professional interests of our members
- To provide opportunities for members to meet and exchange views and ideas
- To raise standards within the profession through the promotion of best practice - including the production of best practice guides, case studies, training events and our continuous professional development scheme 'Developing Excellence'.
The aim of the Yorkshire & Lincolnshire Group of the CIPR is to provide a local support network for CIPR members.
